Álvaro Mazorra graduated in Sociology at Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED) in 2018. He is currently a PhD student at Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED). His research turns around the main social and urban trends of the current societies, such as residential segregation, social inequality, gentrification, tourism, migrations and urban social movements.
Begoña Aramayona is currently a Marie Sk?odowska-Curie Fellow at the University of Sheffield, developing the research project “The Informal Nocturnal City (INF_NIGHT): Towards a new generation of research and policy agenda about urban informality and nightlife in the 21st century South Europe” (2022-2024). She holds an International PhD in Social Psychology (UAM, 2019) and has being awarded with several prestigious post-doc fellowships since then (DMU, Leicester, 2020; Juan de la Cierva UPF, 2021; FCT Junior Researcher at CICS.NOVA, UNL, 2021-22). Interested on interdisciplinary and intersectionally oriented Urban studies – with special attention to urban nightlife, securitisation, informality, gender/race and visual-based methods – she strongly believes that research-activism is indispensable for transforming neoliberal regimes.
Guilherme Teixeira Costa holds a degree in Sociology from the Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas da Universidade NOVA de Lisboa. He is currently completing a joint master’s degree in Urban Studies awarded by ISCTE – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa and at the Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas da Universidade NOVA de Lisboa. His research interests are within the fieldworks of social territory and urban sociology, with special attention to qualitative methods. He participated in the T-Factor project (Universidade NOVA, Lisboa, 2020-2021) and UpLift.Eu (CESIS, Lisboa, 2021-2022). He is also a member of LXNIGHTS Research Group since 2021.
Jordi Nofre holds a PhD in Human Geography from the University of Barcelona (2009). Between 2010 and 2018, he was an FCT postdoctoral research fellow. Since 2019, he is an FCT Principal Investigator and an integrated member at the Interdisciplinary Centre of Social Sciences at the Universidade NOVA de Lisboa (CICS.NOVA). His research includes 3 main topics: (i) Nightlife and urban change in south European cities; (ii) Social geographies of youth in Euro-Mediterranean countries; and (iii) Societal dynamics in a changing environments. He has published a total of 63 publications and participated in 13 research grants.
Manuel Garcia-Ruiz is a PhD Scholar at CIES-Iscte and a Research Collaborator at IS-FLUP. His research in Sociology at ISCTE-IUL is supported by the Portuguese Foundation for Science & Technology (FCT). He has been visiting professor in different universities, and a scientific advisor for different departments, organizations and projects. His research has 3 main topics: (i) Nightlife, festivals, and tourism (ii) city branding, culture-led regeneration strategies, artwashing and commodification of the arts and, (iii) artistification, culture and artistic careers of emergent professionals.
Ronni Ravid is a visiting graduate student researcher from Utrecht University who is completing her fieldwork at the Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas da Universidade NOVA de Lisboa. She holds a degree in Globalization Studies from UCLA with a focus on geopolitics, resource usage, and conflict. Ronni is currently pursuing her Research Master’s in urban and Economic Geography with a special interest in labor geographies and gentrification. Ronni’s work explores how the gentrification of Lisbon by international virtual workers and digital nomads challenges our prevailing understandings of pre-Covid 19 gentrification geographies.
Víctor Riesgo Gómez. Graduado en Sociología y Máster en Política, Sociedad, Cultura y Comunicación, por la Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED). Desde 2019 soy Investigador Contratado Predoctoral en el Departamento de Teoría, Metodología y Cambio Social en la Facultad de Ciencias Políticas y Sociología de la UNED. He publicado varios artículos académicos y en prensa digital sobre las transformaciones sociales en el mundo del consumo, el trabajo y la comunicación impulsadas tras la extensión del uso de Internet y el advenimiento del capitalismo de plataforma.
